Artwork 97 – “The Heart of the Earth” G Version

A new variant was therefore born at the end of 2023, a G Version in which spherical and pyramidal solids are composed of each other, almost as if each one lived its own identity in space and, in a harmonious and orderly manner, formed a single sculpture that It defies, in the balance, the force of gravity. On this occasion the ordered shapes of the simple polygons harmonize with faces with a moving and colored surface, precisely to summarize in a single physical work of art how the Heart of the Earth punctually represents energy, color but also order and disorder at the same time. This last juxtaposition of two oxymorons in a single sculpture undoubtedly assumes a harmonious and elegant behavior despite the contrasting nature of the two states of being. This ability to combine contrasting elements is typical of the art of Cesare Catania, who loves to highlight how reality is often neither black nor white, but an infinite scale of intermediate colours. We find other examples of alternation of this variety of intermediate scales, again in the art of Cesare Catania, for example within the theme of Harlequin, depicted in the art of the Italian painter in different versions (in that case Harlequin, comic character and dramatic at the same time, it symbolizes for the author the human race, with all its facets and caricatures).
